Election Eve 2014 in Virginia

Greetings, folks. Yes, I know it’s quite some time since you’ve heard from me in this space, but I figured this was an important enough occasion for me to pop my head up. As those of us in Virginia no doubt already know, thanks to the deluge of election mailers, emails and robocalls, tomorrow is election day. Annoying as all that is and has been, everyone should still get out and cast an educated vote tomorrow, if they haven’t voted absentee already.

At stake this year is about one third of the U.S. Senate, the House of Representatives, and various of sundry gubernatorial, statewide, county, city and local races around the nation. As it stands, the Republicans currently hold the House, and the Democrats control the Senate, along with, of course, the White House. The electoral environment is particularly good for Republicans this cycle, more due to the combination of far-left ideology and rank incompetence on display by the Democrats than anything the Republicans themselves have to offer. Here in Virginia, U.S. Senator (and former Governor) Mark Warner is up for re-election, endorsed by his predecessor (no relation) John Warner, a notoriously weak Republican who was never popular with the grassroots among his own party. Mark Warner was actually a decent governor, aside from pushing the largest tax increase in Virginia history through the General Assembly. He was even fairly pro-gun as governor. Then he ran for U.S. Senate in 2008, promising to be a ‘radical centrist’ if elected. He has not been. As Republicans love to point out, he’s voted with President Obama 97% of the time. And he’s been effectively anti-gun, as his endorsement by MomsDemandingAttention/GunHysteriaNonsenseInEverytown shows:

Mark Warner voted for the Manchin-Toomey Amendment (S.AMDT.715) to S. 649, the Safe Communities, Safe Schools Act of 2013, which would require background checks for guns sold online, at gun shows, and through classified ads.

As such, the most important thing is for everyone to get out and vote AGAINST Mark Warner in Virginia. The aforementioned anti-gun nutbag hysteria machine has also endorsed some Democrats running for U.S. House in Virginia: incumbent Rep. Bobby Scott in the 3rd District, Don Beyer here in the 8th District, John Foust in the 10th, and incumbent Rep. Gerry Connolly in the 11th District. If you live in any of these districts, please get out and vote to DEFEAT these weasels.

Lastly, if you live in Arlington County, please, please, PLEASE vote for John Vihstadt for County Board tomorrow. He represents the only independent, non-Democratic voice on our board, and is carrying the banner of good government and fiscal responsibility. Want our horrendous roads fixed? Want to put a stop to the wasteful Artisphere, Columbia Pike streetcar, aquatic center and other vanity projects being pushed by the current Board majority? Support John tomorrow.

That is all.

This douchenugget can’t possibly retire quickly enough!

As many of you may have surmised from my virtual (and in real life) happy dance during the past few months, Jim Moranthug, anti-Semite, gun- grabbing hoplophobe, racist, anti-military shitbag, corrupt pig, has decided to finally unass the AO of the 8th Congressional District in Virginia.  Now, I’m fully aware that another leftist creepasaurus will likely take his spot and continue the culture of anti-freedom, anti-responsibility assclownery that has become Moran’s trademark, but let me just celebrate a little, will ya?

Because I tell ya what… I doubt there’s another politician out there who is more disgusting and covered in smelly, oozy slime than Moran! This sack of douche is one of a kind (thankfully!).

As an example, allow me to point you to Moran’s latest comments, which are so ludicrous, that it’s a wonder anyone takes them seriously. I keep wondering if the media is actually reporting on this shit, because they consider it absurd.

Because, trust me. It’s absurd.

“I think the American people should know that the members of Congress are underpaid,” Moran told CQ Roll Call. “I understand that it’s widely felt that they underperform, but the fact is that this is the board of directors for the largest economic entity in the world.”

The senior appropriator pointed out that some members have taken to living out of their offices to save money, while others have “small little apartment units” that make it impossible to spend the time they should with their families.

Fucking what?

Let’s ignore the fact that most Congresscritters are millionaires, and don’t need the perks, benefits and six-figure salary they get at the people’s expense – the very same people whom they screw in favor of their corporate and political masters every year.

According to the Center for Responsive Politics, which tracks political spending in Congress, at least 268 of the current 534 members of Congress had a net worth of at least $1 million in 2012. The median net worth of a member of Congress reached $1,008,767 in 2012, up from $960,000 in 2011, according to disclosures filed annually by all members of Congress, which the center analyzed.

Additionally, with a few notable exceptions, THEY. DO. A. CRAPPY. JOB.

Not just a little crappy, either. Most of these pernicious hemorrhoids on the ass of humanity are complete and utter shit. Note how many of them bow to the pressure to conform, to bow to the establishment, to hand out pork for votes, to bring home the bacon as soon as they get to Washington. Note how many vote for legislation without reading it. Note how many of them were pressured or outright bribed to pass ObamaCare. And yet they work a minimum amount of days, receive six-figure salaries and benefits, have staffers to do the really hard work for them, and have the gall to complain that they’re not getting enough!

Please!

Pardon me if I don’t shed a tear for the poor millionaires for whom the various breaks, including a summer break, Presidents Day break, spring break, Memorial Day break, and Independence Day break, as well as campaigning time is just not enough, and who can’t possibly keep an apartment on that six-figure salary (because dog forbid they be forced to pay $2000 for a one-bedroom apartment in luxury downtown!), and must settle for sleeping in their plush offices!

Moran can eat a large, steaming bag of dick. There’s not a single Congressman that is more despicable, corrupt and outrageous than this slimy git!

It will be nice not to pay his $174,000 salary any longer.

A nation ablaze

OK, not quite. I’m being dramatic, and I thought it was a cool title.

But there is definitely a groundswell of opposition to Washington in general. The President’s approval ratings are down, and the ratings for Congress are some of the lowest in history.  The GOP compromised, compromised, compromised and compromised some more, with the Democrats tossing every proposal into the dumpster without so much as a read.  No compromise. No discussion.

Why?

Because nothing but full implementation of their agenda will do, the American people be damned.

Give us what we want, and we’ll negotiate with you later.

Right.

The other day, the GOP finally cut its own balls off and sent the left pretty much everything they wanted, along with its collective testicles in a nice, golden box.

And guess what?

Speaker John Boehner told House Republicans Saturday morning that his efforts to strike a deal with President Barack Obama are at a standstill.

There is no agreement, Boehner said in a room in the Capitol Saturday, and there are no negotiations between House Republicans and the White House, since Obama rejected the speaker’s effort to lift the debt ceiling for six weeks and reopen government while setting up a budget negotiating process.

Had enough yet?

Many have.

National monuments have been “closed,” due to the government shutdown.

People have been booted off their property that happens to sit on federal land.

Private businesses have been forced to shut down by government force.

The majority of the intelligence community has been furloughed.

Death benefits for the families of heroes who died in war have been halted, forcing private charities to step up to the plate.

And completely by accident, I’m sure, EBT systems malfunctioned yesterday, owing to a computer glitch (or KOCHBUSHTEAPARTYRACISTEXTREMISTSHUTUP!).

All this because the Congress is finally doing the will of the American people – as is its job – at least until it caved to the horde of leftist bullies.

Well, the people are done with this inept Congress, this arrogant, stubborn President and their corruption and inability to do their jobs.

Yesterday, my friend Bruce recorded a crowd of TEA Party activists and tourists walking right past the barricades on the National Mall and tearing down police tape at the Lincoln Memorial and walking right in. This was after Glenn Beck held a Clean-up effort at the National Mall yesterday. The protest was peaceful, and Park Police decided it wasn’t worth preventing peaceful people, to whom the monuments belong, after all, from seeing their history!

This weekend, the truckers’ protest against DC continues. The protest is meant to draw attention to the dissatisfaction with DC. Truckers are traveling around at exactly the speed limit, blocking all lanes.

Got your attention yet, legisleeches and White House?

Today, hundreds of veterans marched on DC (I’m home with some crud I brought back from Europe, and can’t seem to shake, or I’d be there with them). They took down barricades that were blocking their monuments and respectfully placed them in front of the White House. They took back their city.

Can you hear us yet, DC?

And if you can’t hear us. I can’t wait to see what happens when EBT is shut down for any length of time. Veterans and TEA Party activists are peaceful and calm. Wait until the natives start getting restless, because they can’t get their free shit. Riots? Looting? It’s a distinct possibility.

While I’m not sure what will happen – if anything at all, I will say this: Until further notice, I will be armed wherever I go. Those of you in gun-free utopias like Chicago, DC, Detroit, etc. – you pathetic losers are on your own.

Furlough, Day 4

It’s fascinating watching my attitude get more sour by the day. Yes, I was angry on day one that the lazy parasitic swine in Washington couldn’t get their heads out of their asses long enough to pass a budget and not screw more than 800,000 families out of an income. I will admit, however, that my attitude was a bit complacent.

“How long could this possibly last?”

I had things to do. I went to the offices of the company for which I do part time work. I brought my laptop. I worked, and continue to work, squatting in an empty office. I’m not getting paid extra or anything. It was just nice to see all my co-workers, with whom I normally only communicate via email or text message. This is a company for which I have been working since 2000. I started out here as a copywriter, and was promoted to Creative Director four years later. I love the staff here, and it feels like home.

When I left for my current position, I continued (and still continue to this day) to do part time copywriting. It keeps me busy, allows me to stay in contact with folks about whom I care very much, and it’s nice to have some hard copy resources at my fingertips that help me be a more effective copywriter.

So yeah, it was nice to come back here for a few days.

But now we’re in day 4 of this mess, with no end in sight. It appears I won’t be able to return to work for at least several more weeks. Maybe longer.

I was supposed to take an exam that could potentially give me a raise. This won’t happen anytime soon.

I was supposed to start working on a new and pretty fascinating topic at work. That won’t happen either. Not anytime soon anyway.

I get up every morning and come here to the part time office, because I need somewhere to go. I could easily do this work in bed, in my pajamas, like I always do, but I would rather be here. At a desk. Doing extra work, even though I’m not getting extra pay.

It’s just nice to have somewhere to be every morning.

I’ve worked – at least on a part time basis – since I was 16 years old.

I’ve never not had a job or a purpose, and I’ve always had a way to make a living.

All of a sudden, I don’t, and I admit, I’m starting to get worried.

Rob still has a job, so I know we won’t starve. But without my salary, we won’t be able to pay the rent either. Arlington is not a cheap place to live.

I have wonderful parents, who will jump up and help out, but I don’t want to depend on them, and it irks me to no end to have to ask them for help. They’ve worked hard all their lives. They should be relaxing, not taking money out of their account to give to their kid, because her employer refuses to allow her to work for her pay.

Meanwhile, the circus in DC continues unabated.

Our Dear Leader refuses to negotiate, and is essentially throwing a fit, because the representatives of the people are doing the people’s will – the will that says his health care initiative is a cold turd that is a) not ready for prime time and b) will screw over a large portion of the population.

The pestilent sack of syphilis-infected whore ooze Harry Reid won’t even read the proposals sent over by the gutless, spineless, principle-less House of Representatives. He simply tosses them in the trash and has dug in his heels for the long haul. After all, he’s getting paid – even though he’s not actually working – so why should he give a flying rat’s fuck about the people he’s screwing over?

Recent polls suggest that America holds the GOP responsible for this mess.

OK.

They’re definitely responsible. If they had spent less time squabbling amongst themselves for the past four years, and more time actually working to do what they promised to do during election season – repeal the (UN)Affordable Care Act – and maybe working on an actual budget, this mess could have been avoided.

But… recent polls also suggest that the vast majority – more than 70 percent of both Republicans and Democrats demand a compromise – something that both Obama and the Democratic leadership in the Senate absolutely refuse to do, and have flatly stated so.

So my question is: who is abiding by the will of the people here?

When the Belgian government was a massive fail at passing a budget, the politicians were the ones who got the boot. The civil servants still did their jobs, and the general populace wasn’t affected.

We’re the exact opposite here. The budget FAIL is affecting everyone BUT the legisleeches. So why in the world would they care about their own incompetence?

So here we are.

Hundreds of thousands of families have lost their income. The Department of Defense, and other organizations important to the security of this nation are barely operating. The intelligence community has apparently lost 70 percent of its analysts, according to the Director of National Intelligence.

But it’s OK, because Congress is still getting paid.

Go ahead, assholes. Keep compromising this nation. That’s all you’re good for anyway.

Another one steps up to the plate

Congressman Thomas Massie is refusing his salary while this fiasco continues.

Meanwhile, the majority of the fucktards responsible for this are taking a much-needed paid break this weekend, from all those tough negotiations. It’s hard to dig in your heels for a week!

Don’t mess with vets, assholes! (UPDATED WITH COOL STUFF)

If you aren’t convinced about this administration’s utter contempt and outright disregard for our military veterans, this should do the trick.

The White House and the Department of the Interior rejected a request from Rep. Steven Palazzo’s office to have World War II veterans visit the World War II memorial in Washington, the Mississippi Republican told The Daily Caller Tuesday.

Palazzo helped the veterans commit an act of civil disobedience against the Park Service Tuesday, when the heroes stormed through barricades around the closed memorial.

The veterans were visiting the memorial as part of Honor Flight, a non-profit that provides veterans free transport to the nation’s capital to visit the memorials to the wars they fought in.

They were told, “Gee! There’s a government shutdown. Go pound sand.”

Food stamps are still funded, and you will still get molested and ogled by the TSA at the nation’s airports.

Bureaucrats will still be on the job processing citizenship and permanent resident applications, because I guess it’s somehow “essential” to process that paperwork (but unsurprisingly programs to actually verify their legal presence in the United States will shut down), but not to allow our nation’s heroes to visit a memorial.

And Social Security checks will still go out, because we can’t possibly endanger something that sucks the most money out of the budget! But we can certainly deny a bunch of octogenarians a what may be a last chance to visit a memorial to the war in which they served.

Why?

Because Park Service personnel won’t be there to tackle these elderly men and taze them, in case they get unruly and spray graffiti on the monument or something!

Shitbags.

Bennies for bloodsucking parasites are not to be touched, but allowing a bunch of war heroes to visit a monument is not possible because of a bloody shutdown??

Redistributing taxpayer earnings to those who haven’t earned them is fine. But allowing a group of veterans who have given so much to the defense of this nation to walk through a monument – something that doesn’t even require any expense or a guide – is a no-no, because OHNOESSHUTDOWN!

So you know what these veterans did? They knocked over the barricades and told the Obama bureaucrats where to stick their shutdown!

These guys took on Hitler. I doubt they considered some flabby, donut-eating bureaucrat a challenge!

So don’t stand in their way. They want to visit a memorial – one dedicated to a war in which they sacrificed more than any worthless, drooling member of the current Congress and administration could possibly imagine. They paid more than their tax dollars for the right to visit that memorial.

I’m quite certain they earned it.

UPDATE: Laughing Wolf has a few videos of World War II vets – heroes who fought at Normandy – the types of heroes whom this administration tried to deny access to a monument to their sacrifices.

Look for them here and here.

Go there and know that these men fought for you, and their stories are fascinating and real – the kind of stories you want to treasure and keep with you as inspiration of the sacrifices men like these have made for our nation.

Mark Kelly tries to intimidate Republican Senators who actually have the guts to protect our rights

“Don’t stand in the way of MY process, Senators! All dangerous EVVVILLLLL ‘assault weapons’ must be banned! Well, except for mine.”

Yup… the same winner who’s been using his wife as a prop to try and abrogate our Second Amendment rights, even as he purchases the very same weapons he wants out of our hands (on an ‘impulse buy’… Sure, Mark.), doesn’t like that Rand Paul, Mike Lee, Ted Cruz and others are actually planning to stand in the way of his totalitarian agenda.

“They should listen to their constituents and certainly shouldn’t be getting in the way of the process, which is to debate the bill and to vote on the bill,” Kelly said.

“It doesn’t make any sense and I imagine that at some point, if they actually do this, their constituents will hold them accountable for those actions,” he added.

Listen to this guy. ‘Getting in the way of the process’? You’re right… how dare these men use the powers they have at hand to defend the Constitution from your emotionally-driven selfish whiny hypocrisy. This man deals in fear, shame, and lies. He has gone from a hero as an astronaut to appealing to the basest instincts of people, trying to whip us all into a herd mentality so we stampede to see who can surrender his rights the fastest so he can assuage his aching… whatever it is. I don’t have an ounce of respect for this honorless worm any longer. I hope gun rights activist and liberty lovers make his life personally uncomfortable by ratcheting up public pressure, and exposing and mocking his hypocrisy at every turn.

As to the Senators planning to filibuster any gun control bill in the Senate… Thank you, gentlemen. We have your back.
