Oh, Mr. Holder! Go to hell!

OK, Dave done pissed me off.  (I hope that sounded sufficiently Tennesseean, because that’s where Dave is from).  I have to weigh in on AG Holder’s “We must ban assault weapons, because Mexico is a festering shithole awash with drugs and crime” bullshit.

Howard has details.

Holder was responding to complaints from Mexican officials:
Mexican government officials have complained that the availability of sophisticated guns from the United States have emboldened drug traffickers to fight over access routes into the U.S. [Emphasis added]
What are these “sophisticated guns” allegedly “from the United States” that would allegedly be banned?
“Some recent Mexican army and police confrontations with drug cartels have resembled small-unit combat, with cartels employing automatic weapons and grenades,”
… “Large firefights have taken place in many towns and cities across
Mexico, but most recently in northern Mexico, including Tijuana,
Chihuahua City and Ciudad Juarez.” [Emphasis added]
The National Firearms Act of 1934
already banned these weapons from civilian purchase. As true military
firearms, “automatic weapons” are called “machineguns” in U.S. code,
and grenades are listed as “destructive devices.” While it is possible
to buy one of these prohibited firearms (but not grenades), it is a
time-consuming process that criminals cannot handle. The buyer must
fill out an application
with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).
Approval of the sale can happen only after certification by the “chief
law enforcement officer of the organization…having jurisdiction in the
area of residence” of the buyer. Once the buyer pays the $200 transfer tax and takes ownership, the firearm is registered,
making it easy to trace back to the buyer. Should a criminal send a
surrogate, or “straw purchaser,” to buy any firearm for him, this is
also a federal crime.
To claim that these weapons can be purchased from U.S. gun stores or
gun shows in sufficient quantities to arm small combat units strains
credibility.

Let me add a little something of my own here, because Howard uses logic and rational debate, while I just get pissed off and rant.  I suspect Howard is probably embarrassed to know me sometimes! But sometimes it just needs to be said.

First let me say this – I’m completely unsurprised by the renewed call to ban scary black guns that make Carolyn McCarthy shit her granny panties.  I saw her on the news this morning, screeching about the bad, scary, black guns that need to be banned, and I really had this urge to force feed her garden mulch…  This was always part of Teh Anointed One’s(tm) agenda. Hell, it’s blatantly present as a stated mission goal in his brand spankin’ new bureaucracy (hell, no he doesn’t want bigger government!).

It’s also unsurprising that in light of the complete failure that was the first “assault” weapons ban, the Marxist cocksacks would try and justify another ban via some other means,  What absolutely pisses me off beyond anything else is their insistence on using Mexico’s issues to justify infringing on Americans’ rights.

Let’s get something straight:

Mexico is a borderline third-world shithole, and its crimials, drugs and gangs are not our business.  UNLESS…

They enter the country illegally through our porous southern border and wreak havoc.

So what’s one to do?  Well… we could… I don’t know CLOSE THE FUCKING BORDERS, MAYBE?  Don’t let these assholes through!  Station National Guard and active duty Soldiers on the borders, since it’s their job to protect the country in the first place!  Make them stand post and shoot any shitbag who tries to cross illegally with a nonlethal dart that will render them paralyzed, and then toss them back over the border with a trebuchet!  I’m all about the trebuchet, people!

But see… the Mexican government doesn’t want our borders closed to its backwash. They want unfettered access, so they can rid their country of the flotsam and jetsam!  And when we suggest that border security is the answer, the Mexicans squeal like Ned Beatty being sodomized by a rabid band of hillbillies!

Well, guess what, assholes!  You can’t have your cake and eat it too.  You can’t expect us to open our borders to your scum and then alter our laws and destroy our freedoms to control the crime said scum might commit.  We are not responsible for your scum.  Our freedoms are not yours to fuck with.  Our laws are our laws.  If you don’t want the scum to take advantage of our laws, then keep them on your side of the border, and don’t bitch when we step up law enforcement.

And if you feel yourself entitled to dictate what laws we should impose on our people, don’t be surprised if we feel entitled to go into your little shithole and clean up for you. I guarantee you won’t like the job we did.  You don’t respect our sovereignty, so why the hell should we respect yours?

Oh, and by the way, if the cartels are employing “automatic” weapons, like you claim, they’re not getting them here legally, assholes!

Have a nice day!

He’s not for big government

And wild, rabid monkeys might fly out of my ass on national television. While I’m sure all of you would like to see that visually appealing image on NBC, because it would likely be more attractive and fascinating than Olbermann’s simian face, filled with righteous indignation, spewing whatever socialist rhetoric is of the day, I hate to disappoint you, but it won’t happen.

Because Barack Obama is most definitely NOT against big government. He loves it.  He relishes it. He bathes in it like a 300 lb. hooker in a vat of Astroglide. (I know you love the visuals.  I have a ton of them!)

President Barack Obama
laid out his first budget plan yesterday, predicting a stunning federal
deficit of $1.75 trillion this year – nearly four times last year’s
record – and asking Congress to raise taxes on the wealthy to stem the
flood of red ink while moving the country toward guaranteed health care
for all.

Denouncing what he called the “dishonest accounting” of recent federal
budgets, Obama unveiled his own $3.6 trillion blueprint for next year,
a bold proposal that would transfer wealth from rich taxpayers to the
middle class and the poor.

Steal from the rich and give to the poor, eh?  What a Robin Hood!  Too bad, he’s really stealing from the productive and giving to the indolent and undeserving… Talk about your “dishonest accounting!” He’s not creating wealth.  He’s stealing it. He’s not creating jobs.  He’s transferring them to government control at the expense of companies that actually create real jobs and create real wealth.  I guarantee you, however, that honesty is not part of this particular so-called budget.

I say “so-called” because budgeting implies that you actually set some kind of limits on your spending to stay within a certain range. I’m not seeing anything of the sort here.

Wanna see where the pork is?  Here you go.  Enjoy.  You elected this.  Hope you like it hard, fast and unlubed.

A few articles you should read

Howard Nemerov has addressed two issues that I’ve been railing about for years: Civil rights and the corrupt big government exerting its control.  Go and read.  I promise you won’t be sorry.

Mr. President, meet Hygens Labidou, a
Black roofing contractor. Mr. Labidou is the kind of man the Democrat
party should be proud of, since their agenda declares: “The Democratic Party is committed to keeping our nation safe and expanding opportunity for every American.” Their civil rights page states: “Democrats are unwavering in our support of equal opportunity for all Americans.”

Mr.
Labidou was driving his work truck when two white men, one wielding a
knife, got out of their car shouting racial slurs and tried to pull him
out of his truck. Mr. Labidou, licensed to carry a concealed handgun by
the state of Florida, shot both men in self-defense, killing the knife
attacker.

But our president thinks normal, ordinary people carrying guns for self defense is a bad thing.  He thinks “that creates a potential atmosphere where more innocent people could (get shot during) altercations.”

Our president has Secret Service detail – armed men tasked with keeping him, his family and those close to him safe.  Does Mr. Labidou not deserve the same right to defend his life?  Or is that right reserved only for “important” people, who can afford it.

And speaking of important people, who can afford it…

How do you implement gun control?  Simply make guns cost-prohibitive for all but the rich.

Yep.  Ban inexpensive tools of self defense by giving them insidious names such as “Saturday Night Specials.”  Impose so many new, expensive tech standards on manufacturers, that they have to increase prices just to stay in business.

And who profits?

One of Obama’s biggest corporate donors is the law firm of Skadden, Arps, Meagher and Flom, LLP, who contributed $505,774 to Obama’s presidential campaign, and a total of $1,699,345 to all candidates (3rd highest law firm total). By comparison, the entire “gun rights
lobby spend $1,898,904 during the election cycle. Skadden, Arps
represents the inventors of a “firearm safety system,” patent number
6499243, which adds a biometric activator that links a gun to one owner. …

[...]

Sidley Austin LLP contributed $565,788 to Obama, and $1,415,394 to all candidates (5th highest law firm total ). Sidley Austin represents the inventors of the “Gun identification kit,”
patent number 7380706. This invention provides a way for every gun to
have a spent cartidge case made available for entry into a ballistic
fingerprint database. Of course, such a database is useful only if all
firearms are entered into it:

Because
the vast majority of publicly owned firearms have not been used in the
commission of a crime, they will not show up in [such a] database. It
would therefore be desirable to provide a means for increasing the
number of firearms for which…information and data is available.

The inventors’ solution to this? Pass a law mandating that every gun is registered (serial number matched with shell casing and owner data on permanent file) of course:

One
means of populating [such a] database would be to mandate that
ballistic information be obtained and entered into the database for all
firearms.

If the
federal government enacts either one of these gun owner
licensing/registration schemes, patent holders stand to make millions,
if not billions.

You elected them, boys and girls!  Reap the consequences!  All of you living in poor neighborhoods who thought the current administration and Congress would make you all rich overnight without you having to expend any effort will now see who will really get rich from the gun control you support.  See if the criminal who breaks into your home has registered his firearm, or the thug who rapes your daughters at gunpoint has entered his biometric information into a database, or the scumbag who robs you in the street corner has paid extra for expensive gadgets on his pistol.

You made your bed.  Now lie in it.  Me… I’ll hold on to my Glock, thanks!

Fiscal responsibility my ass!

So Teh Anointed One ™ has descended from Mt. Obamus to imbue his adoring herd of acolytes with miraculous enlightenment.  No, I didn’t watch.  I was out with my friends Rick and Bridget last night until entirely too late.  And you can be sure that the conversation was much more stimulating and funny than the speech.

I did peruse Real Clear Politics to find out what Oblahma blabbered about.  I have vomited in my own mouth several times, having read this pernicious crock of shit.

NINE THOUSAND EARMARKSTanking stock market.  Cash going to projects that have no bearing on jobs or the economy whatsoever!  And he claims he’s not for big government??? Seriously??

As soon as I took office, I asked this Congress to send me a recovery
plan by President’s Day that would put people back to work and put
money in their pockets. Not because I believe in bigger government – I
don’t. Not because I’m not mindful of the massive debt we’ve inherited
- I am. I called for action because the failure to do so would have
cost more jobs and caused more hardships. In fact, a failure to act
would have worsened our long-term deficit by assuring weak economic
growth for years. That’s why I pushed for quick action. And tonight, I
am grateful that this Congress delivered, and pleased to say that the
American Recovery and Reinvestment Act is now law.

He’s not for big government, but he’s inserted the government’s large proboscis into every orifice of our nation and the citizens’ lives.  He’s mindful of the massive debt, but he’s adding to it.

Someone please pass me a barf bag.

Good riddance to bad garbage (WITH VERY IMPORTANT UPDATE)

I’m bumping this entry to the top of the queue for one very important reason.  I know there are some folks out there (although too cowardly to actually be vocal) who are against capital punishment, who have doubts as to the indubitable guilt of Edward Nathaniel Bell, and who maybe think that putting him to death for the vicious murder of Ricky Timbrook may have been wrong.

I think the comment from former Winchester Police Chief Gary Reynolds may at least shed some light on the evidence that was not reported by the lamestream media.  And maybe… just maybe… some of you who had doubts will understand a little better the extent of the evidence against him.

Bell is 100% guilty, period. The media has failed to mention the gun
shot residue on his hands, which is only there if you have fired a gun
in the prior 8 hours. The media failed to mention timbrook’s recorded
radio message as he was chasing the suspect, described the suspect down
to the gold emblem on the suspect’s hat, which matched bell’s. Bell
admitted he was there, heard the shot and then hid because he was
afraid! The evidence goes on and on. Oh, and we forgot to mention the 6
grams of cocaine Bell had in his pocket; he was convicted of possession
with intent to distribute. The media forgot to mention that Bell had a
hearing for the following Tuesday, Timbrook was the key witness, which
would have found Bell guilty of being in the country illegally and
would have sent him back to his country. Even though in court records,
the media has not reported on the two men he chopped with a machete
(sic?) and he spent time in a Jamaican prison. The list goes on and on.

Bottom
line is this man killed a police officer to evade arrest. If he killed
a cop, he would certainly not think twice about killing an innocent
citizen.

I have had to remain silent for 10 years because of my position. Thank you for telling the story as it needed to be told.

Is this the kind of rancid scumbag people want walking the streets?

I didn’t think so.

(Original blog entry below)
*************************************

I don’t have a lot of time this morning.  Work beckons with the intensity of a tornado in a trailer park in Oklahoma, but I need to mention this story briefly.

I worked as a reporter for WINC news in Winchester, Va. from 1998 to 2000 before switching to print journalism.  As a news anchor and reporter for a local radio station, I got to know local officials and a number of local police officers very well.  The vast majority of the cops I knew were absolutely wonderful people – dedicated to their jobs and their communities, committed to their families – just good, honorable people.  Ricky Timbrook was one of them.

I didn’t know him well, but I did know him, as I knew most of the local police officers.  I seem to remember he really liked kids and was dedicated to them.  He was always kind to me whenever we spoke.  If memory serves, he taught self defense classes to women and practiced martial arts as well.

I was working the news desk on a Saturday morning in late October 1999, when I heard about Ricky being murdered.  Saturdays were usually slow days – I usually walked into work at 0445 wearing a pair of pajama pants and a baseball cap, but when I called the Winchester police department to see if there was anything to report, instead of the usual, “Nope, nothing’s been going on!” I was connected to a spokesman who explained the situation.  I remember running around throughout the day, speaking with then-Police Chief Gary Reynolds, and realizing that Ricky Timbrook, a guy I knew just a bit, was shot to death two blocks from my house.  I remember vaguely thinking, “Oh!  That’s why there were all those helicopters flying around over my roof last night!”

The entire weekend was a blur, as I worked to gather all the information I could about the murder.  Murder in Winchester was pretty big news.  It’s a tiny little town.  Murder of a police officer… that was unheard of in our small community!

Monday morning, I walked into the news room, gathered up copy for my first broadcast, and came into the studio for my first newscast of the day.  It was the only time I couldn’t finish a newscast.  It was the only time in my life I broke down crying in the middle of the broadcast.  I’m not a particularly emotional person.  Most people will tell you that I’m a cold bitch.  That day, I barely got through it.

Yesterday, I was gratified to learn that the piece of fetid shit named Edward Nathaniel Bell who shot Ricky in the head at point blank range was finally put to death.

Edward N. Bell was strapped to a gurney, administered a sequence of
three drugs and pronounced dead at the Greensville Correctional Center
in Jarratt at 9:11 p.m., said Larry Traylor, a spokesman for the
Virginia Department of Corrections. Bell, 44, was convicted in the 1999
killing of Sgt. Ricky L. Timbrook, who was shot while chasing a
probation violator.

I remember the looks on the faces of my friends in the police department – their horrified, sad looks.  I remember Ricky’s wife being pregnant at the time of the shooting.  I remember the entire city turning out to say goodbye.  Hopefully this gives them some closure.

If there’s a hell, Bell is surely burning in it, and I hope it hurts.
