What? Another one?
- Giving away other people's money to those who haven't earned it
- Bailing out idiots who make stupid decisions by using taxpayer dollars
- Rewarding bad behavior
- Nationalization of banks and other financial institutions
Stimulus.Well, Bush and his shitslurping lapdogs at the Fed and the Treasury are about to embark on yet another crusade to give away even more of your hard-earned cash.
The White House said Monday that President Bush was at least willing to consider a second stimulus measure to follow a $168 billion stimulus measure passed in February and a $700 billion Wall Street rescue plan passed 2 1/2 weeks ago.
Democrats say any stimulus bill would include items previously rejected by Bush such as road and bridge construction money and help for state budgets. Another round of tax rebates is possible as well to make the measure big enough to jolt the economy.
Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., predicted Congress would return after Election Day to work on a measure equal to or exceeding February's $168 billion stimulus package, which included $600 tax rebates for most individuals and tax breaks for businesses.
That's code for giving away taxpayer dollars to those who haven't earned them.
Not that I wasn't happy to receive at least SOME of my money back the last time they passed a "stimulus." After all, it's my money, and they certainly sucked a whole lot of it out of my paycheck. But those tax dollars also went to people who don't pay taxes at all, who earn too little to be forced into indentured servitude by the government. They got money they didn't earn from taxpayers who did earn it, and I was less than happy about it.
And now Bush and crew are talking about yet ANOTHER "stimulus." How much are those who don't pay taxes going to get in their "refund" this time?
Can I just give you a clue, guys? It's not a refund if nothing was paid in to begin with. It's a giveaway. And because it comes from funds extorted by force from hard-working taxpayers, it's also income redistribution. The socialists should LOVE this plan! LOVE IT!
So why is it that they hate Bush so much again?

Vanity.

The biggest issue that few people will address, though, is that it isn't taxpayer money. No one is being given money collected by fedgov as part of their tax appropriation plan.
Since we have a deficit, every tax dollar collected and more is already spent. They're accounted for. Where does this rebate money come from? Well, without the requisite cut in spending, it's created money - fresh off the printing press.
It's an inflationary procedure, which means this tax rebate plan doesn't restore our wealth - it's actually a way to siphon it out of our pockets.

Hi, John -
Even when the money is basically printed and infused into the economy, you're exactly right. It's an inflationary procedure. The money is devalued and our purchasing power is reduced. We wind up paying.

The gov't inflates the currency by simply printing more money that it uses for its purposes. Then our buying power goes down. Thus, inflation is a tax.
Also, we've been watching out for a government grab of the health insurance industry, and they made an end run to grab a bunch of banks. That's right! The gov't has nationalized the banking industry! I sincerely believe that the Democrats who started this Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac fiasco actually had bank seizures as their goal. We are now a managed socialist economy.
